The dog hotline number is 233 3022. It will be operational from Monday 28 March.

Operated by the Liverpool Direct Contact Centre, it deals with most matters concerning dogs.

This includes reporting incidents of dog fouling, information about strays or nuisance barking or even asking for help in removing a dog that’s died.

However, reports of dangerous dogs or information relating to dog fighting should continue to be made to Merseyside Police on 709 6010.

Gritting Routes

Gritting Routes. Gritting Bin Locations, Gritted Pavements and Gritting Routes for roads can be found online.

Just enter your address in the top left corner of the page or browse the map by clicking and dragging.

Gritting Advice You can get grit from the 163 yellow grit bins located throughout the city.

  • You can spread gritting salt on pavements and other public footways (not driveways)
  • Use a spade or shovel to spread the grit thinly and evenly across the pavement
  • Gritting bins are topped up twice during the winter season

If there is a road in your area which needs gritting or your local grit bin needs to be refilled with salt, please contact Liverpool Direct on 233 3001.

…any Liverpool resident who needs an NHS Dentist in this city will be able to find one by calling the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), freephone, on 0800 073 1106.

For people who need emergency dental services the PCT offers a Dental Access Service from Everton Road Health Centre during the day and Old Swan Health Centre during the evening. Appointments can be made by contacting NHS Direct on 0845 4647.


NHS. The NHS website provides search facilities for finding local Doctors, Dentists, Opticians, Pharmacies and more. Just enter your postcode and they will provide a list of the nearest service to you.
